Long Weekend

Well, I'm finally getting around to this. I had quite the long weekend. Friday night found me at First Presbyterian Day School for a back to school dance. Good times! Thanks to my nephew, Boone, for helping me out on that.

Saturday, I was in Peachtree City, where I performed at Matt and Jennifer's wedding reception. We had a blast!!! The dance floor was never empty! Thanks to all of Matt and Jenn's friends and family for such a good time!

Sunday morning, I was up and at 'em, heading downtown for the Macon Wedding Ring's Bridal Show. We had 71 brides registered. Great turnout! For those that don't know, Rebecca, my sis in law, has come aboard as my wedding planner. She did a great job at her first bridal show. Thanks Rebecca!!

Right after that, I headed to Mercer for the orientation celebration. What a great group of freshman!!! We had a blast!

Monday afternoon was Bear Fair and the back to school party at Mercer. Another great crowd. I had fun!!! Good job, Beth White, on setting it all up!

Well, I'm off to finally unload the truck. It's just too hot, but I gotta do it.

Why can't I sleep?

I can't understand why I can't sleep at night. I've cut out the caffeine after 6. I lay back and try to relax. Yet it still takes me at least an hour to fall asleep. I envy Hayden and DeDe. They're asleep almost as soon as their head hits the pillow.

I guess part of it is trying to remember everything for this weekend. Really the only events I have to prepare for is the wedding on Saturday and the bridal show on Sunday.

Business is picking up. I'm really excited to see where the Lord is going to take this thing next.

Feel free to comment on my posts. It would be nice to know it's being read.

I'm going to bed!!!! I'm beat!

It's Tuesday

Well, it's still in the 100's. Guess who's not cutting the grass! I don't go outside if I don't have to.

So, I'm on MySpace the other day and a guy I knew from 20 years ago at Calvary (the church I grew up in) adds me as a friend. This has led to an onslaught of people I haven't seen in forever. It's good times to catch up. I love where I am in my life and wouldn't change it for anything, but it's good to know where you came from.

To all my old friends, I'm having a cup of coffee just for you!! (since I don't drink.....)

This weekend is going to be a busy one. 5 events in 4 days. Friday night is a high school dance.....those are some of the hardest to do, especially since this one is a Christian school.

Here's today's quote:

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined.
Henry David Thoreau

Have a great day!!

Hayden's first day at Sprindale Elementary

A picture of Hayden on his first day of school

It's Friday!

You know what stinks? Lots of stuff, I know, but how am I supposed to function when this allergy medicine makes me so sleepy? Arghh!

Anyway, Hayden and I are going to see Justin and Stephanie (friends of ours) ride in a barrel racing contest tonight. It should be fun! DeDe is scrapbooking tonight.

It's going to be 104 degrees today!!!! I can't wait for cooler weather.

This is cool....I got a call from a bride, who I'm meeting with next week. We were in the same German class in high school!!! That was 19 years ago and she remembered me!!! I'm not sure how to take that. I'm glad I'm memorable...I just hope it was for good reasons!!

I didn't have much to say today. Sorry......

Here's today's quote:

" The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It's as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer."

Allergies

Well, here starts another week of allergies. This gets old real quick! They started a few months ago, coming and going, but now they've been pretty bad for about 3 weeks.

Hayden started Pre-K today. He was really excited! It was touching to see how much he has grown up. He'll be 5 in October. DeDe did well. She didn't cry at all. Neither did I. I'm proud of him and everything he's doing.

What's up with the heat?! It's going to be 100+ all week! I'm glad August is slow for weddings. I'd hate to be loading in, in heat like this. It almost felt like Orlando. It rained for about 10 minutes and then it was a steam bath for the rest of the day.

Well, here's the quote for the day:

"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."
Albert Schweitzer

A weekend off!

This weekend is a welcome treat. I have a weekend off! I plan on spending time with Hayden and DeDe. Maybe we'll get some of the projects around the house completed. That would be nice.

The Macon's Wedding Ring bridal show is coming up August 19. For more details go to www.maconsweddingring.com .

I'll leave you with some words by Aristotle:

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.
