I met with a bride and groom the other day. During the course of the conversation, they mentioned they were helping a friend with her wedding....they were manning the iPod. Oh boy!
I offered to help as much as I could, if needed. I hate to see anybody's day not be the best that it can be. I shared with them how, on July 4th, we had some friends over and I put on my XM radio. What a disaster!!! I ended up pulling out a rig and DJing my own party!
Here's an email she sent me today. I got her permission to repost it here. I've changed the names.
Kevin,
We are sending the contract out today. We had 98% decided that a DJ and your business in particular was what we wanted and the wedding this weekend just confirmed that choice!
You were very right about the trials of an ipod wedding. The wedding was successful and beautiful, but part of that success was at mine and Jimmy's expense, as we were running around trying to set the music up and determine who, if anyone, was making the announcements and moving everything along. The couple, especially Jackie, are probably two of the most organized people I know of and even with their detailed schedules and itineraries, there were delays and confusion that could have easily been handled by a professional (who didn't have a personal stake in the friendship of the couple).
In addition to the lack of announcements, there was practically no dancing and though we tried to read the crowd, we were very limited by the playlist the couple had put together.
In short- We are true believers now! We are very excited to work with you and are looking forward to having a wedding reception that everyone enjoys!
Thanks again!
Sally

Ro and Kelsey tie the knot!
Ro and Kelsey tied the knot on Saturday. We provided ceremony sound, reception DJ and day of coordination. Great time at a place I've never been. Pineola Farms in Fort Valley, GA. They renovated an old cotton barn and made it an event facility. They actually moved it from across the street. It's a great read, with pictures, on their website. http://www.pineola.com.
Enjoy!

A beautiful ceremony.
My setup for the day.

Enjoy!

Kathryn turned 13!
Friday night, the Mellow Mushroom patio was the place to be. Kathryn turned 13 and 50 (or so) of her closest friends came out to help her celebrate. Karaoke and dancing was the order of the night. This is the 4th party I've done in this group of friends and they didn't let me down on the dance floor.
Staff of the Mellow Mushroom made comments to me when it was over about how those kids just kept jumping! LOL
I didn't get to take many pictures, so here's a few I did take.
Thanks, Kathryn!

Drew and Tara's Wedding Reception
What a great time we had at the beautiful Villa Serena in Conyers, GA. Drew and Tara had both their ceremony and reception here. The day started out warm, but cooled down comfortably by the evening. Uplighting, cake lighting and more!
Here's what Tara had to say about her DKH experience:
"Kevin was amazing! It was a pleasure to work with him and he made the planning process so much fun. My bridesmaid and I went together to meet Kevin for the first time and right away we felt comfortable and he kept us laughing the whole time. Later my fiance met with Kevin and we had a blast choosing all the music for our wedding day. I found DKH entertainment by a referral from someone and I am so glad I did. My wedding would not have been half as much fun and unique without Kevin. He gave me fun ideas to incorporate into the reception and was always trying to help the flow of the wedding day go smoothly. I would recommend DKH entertainment to anyone planning a wedding and make sure you talk about the possibilities with lighting that he can do. I got uplighting since my event was outside at night and he really transformed my venue. All of my guests were talking about much fun they had and the dj can really make the reception a hit."
Thanks, Drew and Tara, for letting me be a part of your celebration!
